November 2017

This month, like any other month, God who is in control of all things, has great things in store for us. It’s important to see the beauty in all things. He is sovereign and He keeps us on His providential path. In fact, each day is a miracle in itself. Here is one story. I received a call from someone who asked me to visit her sick father in Pitesti. Her  father was sick with cancer, last stage. Her fear was that her father would die without being saved. So the next day I went to Pitesti, to Alexandru Grosu, 73. He was bedridden. I spent two hours with him, helping with his physical needs, a good opportunity to talk with him and his wife about the Gospel. My strategy is to get closer to the heart of the person, and then talk to them about eternity, about sin and why Jesus had to come to earth. At the end of our time together, the Lord opened his heart and he accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, admitting his sin for which Jesus died as well. After two days he was admitted to the hospital. I visited him there. He confirmed that he was sure his sin was forgiven. I was glad to hear it, especially since after two more days he passed away. As I write this report, I am getting ready to go to the funeral, and I pray that the Lord would give me another opportunity to preach the Gospel, even though it will take place at the Orthodox church.

Sister Marioara Barac send us 3 packages with clothes. After arranging them by size, my wife and I took them into the gypsy village in Rotunda. This was a great blessing. I sent a picture with the worship group from the church. They serve at church, at the elderly home and the orphanage in Tigveni. For the month of December we prepared 550 gifts for children: 300 for the orphanage and 250 for the gypsy villages. We have a big God. We just have to ask.

Thanks to the PIE Organization for their involvement, and spiritual and financial support. Thanks to the sponsors who are our partners. We love you with all our heart and pray for you daily. May the Heavenly Father care for all your needs. Be blessed with good health and prosperous businesses. I close with a verse I read today: 2 Corinthians 9:7, 12 “ God loves a cheerful giver…this service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.”

October 2017

This month my wife and I celebrated our birthdays. The surprise came from the children who had us for dinner, showered us with gifts, flowers and cake.

This month I was part of two funerals. We must always thank God for each day. It is a privilege to serve Him, being thankful for the salvation He provided as a gift through faith.

Also this month, I was part of a wonderful fellowship at the PIE Center in Alba-Iulia. I don’t know how the other missionaries felt, but for me it was encouraging to see the Spirit’s guidance in all aspects. From reading Psalm 119 by Brother Jenu Stef, to the message from the Word shared by our missionary Brother Marius Giura who encouraged us to keep serving. Brother Raul Costea presented the resources that the PIE Organization offers to the missionaries. Much of the focus was on church planting, team work and the way to recruit future workers. He gave the example of Jesus’ life, the vision, plan and direction He had. I learned new things such as how to be proactive and reactive. I prayed all the way back home to be more organized and have good direction. There are many more things to say. I left well pleased, and learned a lot about the organizational aspects as laid out by Brother Costel Tomus and Brother Andrei Dragomir. We will continue to pray for the PIE Board in Romania and USA often. This fellowship ended with a meal, a great atmosphere that demonstrated that we are united.

Every month we visit the elderly home in Suici, and we now have believers there. They gather in a room for Bible Study and prayer, similarly to the orphanage in Tigveni.

I thank God and you for your involvement in spreading the Gospel, and pray that God would give you good health to you and your families, growth in the knowledge of Lord Jesus, and blessings upon your churches and businesses. We think of Ed and Diana, Marioara Barac’s family, Matei Scheau and Sister Naomi’s family and the PIE Board in Romania and the US. I close with the verse from 1 Thessalonians 4:17 “Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.”

September 2017

I am starting this report with a confession. I sent the photo of the Curtea de Arges Monastery which is 5 min away from my house. On the days when there is liturgy at the church, I go to talk to people who visit, in the yard of the monastery. The monastery is 500 years old and a tourist place. We don’t talk about the monastery but about the Savior, about the salvation through repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus. I shared this photo so that the visitors would have a great memory from Curtea de Arges.

This month I connected with the local TV station to share an evangelistic message for 2h, and through the grace of God, the Gospel message reached over 200,000 homes. We need to pray that as many people as possible would open their heart for the Word of God.

Every time I visit the gypsy villages, I get to do home visits, when they have the opportunity to share their problems, to pray together and when I see their joy when I visit. This week I visited a husband and wife, Matei and Leana in the hospital, and I had the opportunity to preach the Gospel to the other patients in the room.

Another great experience is to listen to the adults from the Orphanage in Tigveni and hear their stories. It motivates me to continue to serve.

In closing, I want to thank everyone who prays for us and who supports us financially. We bring you before the Throne of Grace. I am thinking of Ed and Didy’s family, Matei Scheau’s Family, Marioara Barac’s family and the PIE board in Romania and the US. May the Lord Jesus reward and give you everything you need in your travels on this earth, and also in His glorious heaven when He returns in the clouds. I close with the verse that is an encouragement to me and to all those who believe it: “l sought the Lord and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces were not ashamed.” Psalm 43:4-5

August 2017

Every month I try to share with you a new aspect of the missionary work, how God leads his people day by day, and how He works through them. I learn every day that I am not the one doing this ministry, but that I am in under the lead of His Majesty.

In August, with a team from church, I had the privilege of going to the senior assisted living center in the Village of Suici. There, years ago, there was an orphanage with 400 children, as a vocational institution. The children learned various trades and were prepared to enter the workforce. I have good memories from there, especially since each one of these children got to hear the Gospel. I remember bringing teams of American Christians through PIE, accompanied by the Stef Brothers who sang. I live with the hope that we will see these children in heaven. The orphanage was replaced by the senior center, housing 120 seniors. The director is the same person who was the director of the orphanage. Because I know him, I was welcome there and was able to continue the collaboration. When we visited the center, we spent a whole day visiting each person. We divided into teams and spent time with people. Some of them have been abandoned by family and hardly have any visitors. Therefore, we took our time to talk with them, sharing about the Lord Jesus and about spending eternity in heaven. We told them about Jesus’ sacrifice, about the sinful condition, about believing that the Lord Jesus died for their sin, and about accepting Him as Lord and Savior. I am so glad to report that many of the seniors gave their heart to Jesus, many with tears in their eyes. We are so glad to be instruments in His hand, in this great work of salvation.

I want to thank all brothers and sisters who pray for us, whose heart is with us and who partner with us in the mission field. We consider ourselves a team with you, and pray for you, for the PIE leaders in Romania and USA, for all who support us financially and prayerfully. We think of Ed and Diana, Marioara Barac, Matei Scheau, Sister Naomi and others and their families. May the Lord bless you with health and anything you need on this earth. May your work and church be blessed! I greet you with Hebrews 13:1 “Let brotherly love continue.”

July 2017

Unlike June when there were four evangelism services in the gypsy villages, this month we had Christian camps with two series of children, one for 9-12 year olds, and one for 13-18 year olds. Each series had its own experience, wi th the ultimate focus of children being saved and going to heaven.

June 2017

This month, by God’s grace, I had the opportunity to have nine days of evangelism in four gypsy villages, a mission field that is close to my heart. We set up a tent with a sound system and a worship team, with help from one of the missionaries named Paul Williams. This was a great blessing for children and adults because they heard the good news of the gospel. We set up the tent in the Village of Rotunda; people were encouraged and moved by the Word of God. Before starting the evangelism, we prayed that people would realize that they are sinners, that they cannot be saved by their own actions, and that salvation comes through the sacrifice of His son and by receiving the Lord Jesus.

May 2017

Last month we met and trained with the PIE leaders from Romania and the USA, and saw their love for the missionaries and for the work. We shared the truths from the Word of God while being trained in the Christian Center building in Alba-Iulia where the PIE headquarters are. We, as well, at the county level mobilized and decided to have small conferences with leaders about worship, the Word, prayer and updates on the missionary work in the entire county. I have shared a photo from the meeting we held at the Christian Evangelical Congregation in Campulung. We decided to meet every other month in this formula.

April 2017

By the grace of God, another month passed. This month was rich in events. My wife and I celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary on Apr 28th, and when we looked back we saw the Lord’s hand of goodness guiding us along all these years, and accompanying us with His grace. There aren’t enough thanks for all the good He has done to us.

March 2017

One more month passed by, and with seasons and time passing we think of the grand event happening soon: the second coming of the Lord to take away the church, His bride. We live with this hope that God will fulfill this promise. Until that moment, this hope motivates us to keep working. I am thankful to God for health so that I can continue to do ministry. I have to go to the hospital in Fundeni for blood tests and for immunosuppressant medicine, which I have to do for the rest of my life. Whenever I go to the hospital, I take advantage of the opportunity to share the Gospel.

February 2017

By the grace of God, we made it through the second month of the year, and we are thankful to God that He is in control and guides our life on earth, gives us the joy of His presence and convicts us through the Holy Spirit that we are valuable because of the Lord Jesus.

News from December

Through God’s grace and endurance, I have reached the end of December and the end of 2016. I believe each one of us has thought about another year going by, which was given by the Father. According to doctors’ prognostics, I was supposed to leave last year, but this was not according to God’s plan. We have a great God, Who is specialized in miracles.

News from September

From the very beginning of this report I want to say that every time I have to share information related to my missionary activity, I try hard not to show that this is my doing, but on the contrary, to show Jesus Christ. Recently I was encouraged by the verse in Acts 18:9-10 “Do not be afraid, but speak and do not be quiet for I am with you…”

Traian Chilau - August Newsletter

Although I had a month filled with busy activities (organized two camps for youth 12 and 18 years old), I had two goals; growing in the knowledge of Jesus Christ and discovering the youth with special talents whose heart leans towards serving. With this in mind, I noted several names such as Leonard Maruntelu, George and Ferdi the Third, as well as some girls, all of whom I plan to invest in.

Traian Chilau Update

After we finished giving Christmas gifts at the orphanage kids and gypsy villages, together with the group of brothers we were wondering what kind of experiences we will have this coming year. For this month, the first thing we have done was to aim specific objectives for this year, this is why I felt the need to spend time in prayer and reading the Word to be able to have this light. I would like to write down a few of them which are in my heart, and I pray for God’s help in the ministry for this year.

Update from Pastor Traian Chilau

I have had a bad cold, which lasted 3 weeks and I had to go to hospital. There, I have understood why I had to be there: to reach out souls who need salvation. Therefore, during the time spent there I talked to people in groups or individually about the significance of being saved. I pray that all who have heard about Jesus Christ would be in Heaven.
