Dear brothers and sisters from the USA, our partners in evangelism here in Ukraine, we greet you with the love and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ!
We are grateful to the Lord God for His mercy and protection that we have from Him in this difficult time for Ukraine. And although we have this war, the Lord blessed us with a good harvest that we collected from our fields. God took special care of those who live in Ukraine and all our churches celebrated the Harvest holiday in September-October. The holiday of Thanksgiving to the Lord for the blessings of the land that produced a good harvest of everything we need for our food.
All the churches of Ukraine thanked God for the help and support that they received from the churches from the USA. We immediately send this help to those regions that are on the front lines.
1. This month we organized the Harvest holiday in 3 churches: Balkovtsy, Podvirnoye and Nesvoi. Our church choir went to Balkovtsy and organized a program for this holiday. Thank God there were also unbelievers who listened attentively to the Word of God.
- We also went to Podvirnoye with a group of singers and organized a program for this holiday. There are 3 unbelievers who attend church services. We pray for them so that they repent.
- And we held this holiday in the church from Nesvoy on September 29. On this day we invited these 2 churches: Podvirnoye and Balkovtsy, to our Harvest holiday. Thank God, there was a blessed gathering of thanksgiving to our Lord for all the gifts, earthly and spiritual, this year. Everyone participated in the worship program, from the smallest to the greatest. After the service, we prepared packages with food for the sick and needy, which the brothers took to people's homes. They were very happy and with tears in their eyes thanked God for such a generous and blessed gift from our church, for the fact that the church does not forget about them, glory to God for everything!
2. Funeral:
- In the city of Chernivtsi we buried the wife of my brother Yuri, her name was Jeta and she was 61 years old. She had been ill with cancer for a long time and God took her to himself. We organized the funeral here in Chernivtsi, although she was a member of our church from Nesvoya. The Word of God was preached and the choir from Chernivtsi together with the choir from Nesvoya glorified the Lord with singing. At this evangelism there were 50 people from unbelievers, Jeta's relatives and her friends who listened attentively to the Word of God. We pray for these people that the Lord will examine their hearts for repentance.
- After such evangelism, many people came to us with different questions and we answered them. These conversations were very interesting because it was raining outside and people could not go outside until the rain stopped. And so they had such an opportunity to hear the Word of God in the hall, in the cemetery, where such events are held.
3. At the Bible Institute, we are taking exams for new students who are entering this institute. There are not as many students now as there were before the war.
4. Thanksgiving:
- We are grateful to God for blessing us with a good harvest this year.
- We thank God for you, brothers and sisters from the USA, who are helping us so that we can give this help in those areas of Ukraine where there is fighting. Everything burned down there, there is no electricity, no water, there is a big disaster.
- We thank God that it is quiet and calm for now, without enemy missiles, and we can preach the Gospel to people.
5. Prayer needs:
- Continue to pray for the war to stop in Ukraine and Israel.
- Pray for those who repented this year, so that the Lord would strengthen their faith.
- For those who heard the Word of God this month, so that the Lord would touch their hearts.
- About the displaced persons who live among us, that they repent. They receive help and thank God, but we pray for them that the Lord touches their hearts, that they repent.
- About teenagers, about children, about youth, that they are protected by God in this difficult time of war.
- Pray for us, missionaries of the PIEI Ukraine mission. We are going 5 brothers to Alba Iulia for a conference organized by the PIEI Romania mission, October 11-12. That the Lord bless our journey and the time of the conference. That He protect us from all evil.
We also pray for you, brothers and sisters from the USA, our partners in evangelism here in Ukraine. And we wish that the Lord bless you, your families, your churches and your country. We also pray for the upcoming presidential elections in the USA. May the Lord bless these elections for you.
We love you and pray for you.
With love to you, the Petikhachnyy Pavel & Larisa family.
