Dear brothers and sisters from the USA - our partners in evangelism here in Ukraine, we greet you with the love and peace of our Jesus Christ!
We are very grateful to God for His protection and security, for His help and for His grace to us. For the fact that even in this difficult time of war in Ukraine, the Lord gives us such an opportunity to worship Him with thanksgiving for the harvest given by God this year. By His mercy in our region, Chernivtsi, people were able to reap a good harvest from their fields - Glory to God! This is God's mercy to us, because where the war is going on in Ukraine, people were unable to sow or reap anything. But the Lord is merciful to us and therefore we must meet the needs of those people who are now going through these trials, and also help our soldiers who are now on the front lines defending our country.
1. Harvest Festival:
-This month we celebrated the Harvest Festival and Thanksgiving Day in the church of the village of Podvirne. We, together with the church, thanked God for the wonderful harvest in this year 2024. For the fact that from this harvest all our believers are ready to donate for those areas where everything burned out and they could not collect anything for them because of this war.
- At this holiday there was a special prayer for the long-awaited peace to finally come to Ukraine. And the Church of Jesus believes and hopes that God will hear our prayers for peace.
- And a week later, together with the church from the village of Balkovtsy, we also celebrated their Harvest holiday, where our church choir from Nesvoy glorified the Lord with songs and poems of thanksgiving and praise to God for bread, for water, for the Word of God, for health and for the mercy of the Lord to us.
- This church is also ready to donate from its profits for all areas of Ukraine that are in need. The whole church prayed earnestly for the Lord to give us peace in Ukraine. May the Lord hear these prayers too.
Also, these 2 meetings were attended by unbelievers who listened attentively to the Word of God. We pray for them too, that the Lord will test their hearts for repentance.
- Next Sunday, our church from Nesvoy will also celebrate Thanksgiving Day. We invited these 2 churches to us and also invited many guests from our village. We pray that the Word of God touches their hearts so that people understand Christ's love for them and so that they repent.
2. Pre-funeral and funeral
- From our church Nesvoy, brother Vladimir passed away into eternity, a brother who worked hard for our church, was a member of the church committee.
- At the pre-funeral service, the Word was preached and the church choir glorified God with psalms. There were also many people there, relatives of brother Vladimir, who listened to the Word of God.
- Also on the second day, already at the funeral, many unbelievers came and the Word of God was preached in the Power of the Holy Spirit.
They also prayed for peace in Ukraine at this funeral. All the people there said words of prayer to God that this senseless war would stop and that peace would finally come to Ukraine. May the Lord bless us with this peace!
3. Thanksgiving:
- We are grateful to God for your prayers and for your support, dear brothers and sisters from the USA - our partners in evangelism here in Ukraine. Through your help, we help those in need and displaced people who live among us.
- We are grateful to God for giving us this opportunity to proclaim the Word of God to unbelievers who are among us.
- We are grateful to God that our Bukovina has not yet been bombed by enemy missiles. Glory to God for His mercy to us.
4. Prayer requests:
- Do not stop praying for peace in Ukraine and Israel.
- Pray for all those who listened to the Word of God this month. So that the Lord would touch their hearts.
- Pray for the evangelization that we will have in the church of the village of Nesvoi next week. That the Lord blesses His Word through preaching, youth hymns, stories, poems. Pray for the awakening to repentance of our people from these villages to whom we proclaim the Gospel.
- Pray for our trip to Romania, for the upcoming road to Alba Iulia, where our missionary brothers from Romania are organizing a conference on October 11-12 in Alba Iulia. That the Lord protects us from all evil and that we can rejoice around the Word of God at this conference.
We always thank God for you, dear brothers and sisters from the USA, we pray for you and love you with Christ's brotherly love. May the Lord bless you abundantly and may the Peace of Christ and HIS GRACE always be with you!
