Ministry Update

Dear brothers and sisters,

Greetings from Romania

I would like to start by telling you that we, the team that serves in Romania, have made it safe to our location at PIEI Center Alba Iulia.  We have already concluded a week of VBS under the leadership of our missionary Daniel Petrut. Today we are expecting another group from  my church, Liberty Bible Church, including pastor Joe. Their purpose for this trip is to support leaders in the local ministry and encourage them.

I am so thankful for all your prayers and love, and also grateful for the loves of our brothers in Romania showed us when meeting with us. I believe in the power of the fervent prayer cause I have to testify that from luggages that have made it in time to reaching every flight in time, everything went well and I have seen God’s hand over us, protecting and caring for us. So, thank you and God bless each and everyone of you. We are so excited to see how God will work this time, how God is going to use everyone’s gift for the people we will interact with.  One of the tools God has provided for us in Reaching Romania for Christ, is the Necrilesti Camp, a camp located 45 minutes away from PIEI Center Alba Iulia.

This camp has a cabin that required intervention to the basic structure and support pillars that were affected by mold. So, we started a rehabilitation work on the entire resistance structure of the building by decommissioning the legs affected by mold and replacing them with legs from a cement  structure. Developing and deepening into the rehabilitation works, we have realized that in order to bring the building to a good operational status, and also taking into account the geographical area, the construction manager advised us that a technical room is necessary to this location. The techinical room must include water heating pumps, cooling storage place for food, which will also serve the future 2 more cabins that we are thinking to build to support the  work of the camp as well as counseling or retreat for pastors and service teams and even more. The costs of all this reaches high to a sum of 150,000.00 USD.

The needs are so many, the costs are so high, but I believe that a soul that finds the Lord it’s worth every costs we can pay, considering that Christ gave His  life for us, the higher price someone could ever pay. Back over 40 years ago, coming to America, i have never thought of having a high standard of life, but rather I’ve always thought on how can I serve God back in the country I have come from - Matthew 16:24 - Then said Jesus unto His disciples, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever desire to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.  For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

On July 20th, i will lead a group of 5 people to Cernauti, Ukraine, where along with local leaders will be involved in a full time camp ministry. Our group will serve  leading bible study classes, having eye glass ministry and helping with other activities in the camp.

Please consider praying that God will provide us with great weather, protection as we serve in a country where war is going on, pray for the youth that attend the  camp that they may have an open heart to the word of the Gospel.

PRAYER REQUEST

*Pray for the safety of the teams coming and going

*Pray that the Necrilesti Camp becomes functional

*Pray for the missionaries as they serve faithfully for so many years

*Pray for more workers to join us in the great harvest

*Pray for the war to end in Ukraine, many lives are in danger

“In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father” – Matthew 5:16

The new year started for us here at PIEI Center Alba Iulia with alot of activities, which includes a lot of hard work and motivation for what follows up next in the future ministry. Because as you may know, our center is not totally finished ( we’re talking about a 50% finished project ), in order to serve better those who come in for ministry, we’ve started working to finish the eating area, the kitchen and the rooms attached to that.

Thanks to you support and prayers, we’ve managed to finish these areas and now are thinking forward to the next steps which will include the equipment for the kitchen and the eating room, which means tables and sits

for a number of 60 persons. Our second major event that took place at the center this beggining of year, was the family conference, held by pastor Cornel Fogorosiu and our national director, pastor Timotei Stanea. More than 30 people, Christian and non-christian families attended the meeting. Pastor Timotei and pastor Cornel have been teaching a study on the Christian family – how hard it is to build the family based on the initial bond, the love bond, the covenant of forgivness, ministry bond and covenant of the intimacy. The last study was on “How to build a relationship with God”. All of these subject are so important considering the 6 families were not Christian families and 1 family was for the first time exposed to a christian bible study. So our encouragement for you is that you will continue to pray and ask God that the seed once planted, may bring fruit and these families, as they leave for home, they are forever changed by the power of the word of God.

Another great event that happend for the first time this year at PIEI Center Alba was the first annual meeting of “ The Royal Rangers” - the Christian scouts organization that started a few years ago in Romania and now one of our local Christian community church has a department right here in Alba Iulia, and they have found a great place in PIEI Center Alba to sit down for a meeting with national leaders and foreign leaders.

Christian communities enjoy the benefits that the PIEI Center Alba has to offer when it comes about a center situated place, a place easy to reach from all over Romania, nice, clean and welcoming. We belive God is being glorified through everything that is happening at PIEI Center Alba, and also we are looking into partnering with as many possible when it comes about sharing the good news of Jesus Christ our Savior.

We are so thankful for you and your heart for the ministry, and as God leads you, we invite you to come and serve the Lord passionate so that many will see or hear about your good deeds and everyone will praise our heavenly Father.

May God bless you!

Reaching Romania August 7 th 2023

It has been an incredible month for us here at PIEI Christian Center Romania. We had the opportunity to host a beautiful number of people from US along with our president, Cornel Stef and his wife Gabriela, as-well as our mission director Walter Windsor Cunningham. Some of the team members were here for the first time but some have been to their second coming. So basically we have spread in 2 teams that one followed a mission program down south to visit and help some of our missionaries like Florina Darvell and Florin Sfetcu and the other one head on to Ukraine for VBS and summer camp. We believe that God is speaking to everyone as they are lead to the mission field, and the reward is huge when it comes about saving souls. We are so encouraged to see people coming to Romania and giving a hand in the ministry, in spite of the age. Young and older, God is using everyone who chose to step out of their comffort zone. We are thankful to you who pray and support this ministry and we would like to leave this years with you as we close:

“Truly I tell you,” Jesus said to them, “ no one who has left home or wife or brothers or sisters or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God will fail to receive many times as much in this age, and in the age to come eternal life.” Luke 18:29,30

Foreign Language Day Camp

By God’s grace, a foreign language day camp was organized at the PIEI Center in Alba Iulia from June 26th to June 30th. Fifty-three children participated in the camp, coming from non-believing families. These children are part of the Foreign Language Club project, which takes place twice a week at the PIEI Center in Alba Iulia, where they learn and practice two modern languages grammatically.

Christian Center

As you may know, summer is a very busy season for us at PIEI, so the activity is on going here at Alba Iulia Christian Center. We’ve started with a VBS for kids,  lead by our missionary Emanuel Joldos and his wife Damaris. Sharing the Scriptures and playing games was part of the ministry, as well as knowing the kids needs and praying with them for God’s protecting over this summer vacantion. Please continue to pray for them as they are giving their best all year round with after hour classes and vbs.

Training

Healthy families makes a healthy church!

*Having a healthy church community it take spending time, getting to know your congregation and investing while serving the people God has been giving you to work with. Pastor Cornel Fogorosiu has had such a wonderful idea of taking 3 days off with his congregation and spend unforgettable time here at Alba Iulia Christian Center, where they all have been in the word of God and great fellowship, different than just church days. You know, such moments strengthens the families as they are all together under one roof and spend time at the same table for 3 days. Please continue to pray for pastor Fogorosiu, as you know that the pandemic season has brought so many changes into the church life and people find some many other activies, separate from the church.

*We had the privilege this spring to have a group of people from different churches in the USA, like Salt Church from Corry, Pennsylvania and Stonewater Fellowship Church from New Braunfels, Texas. It’s members Nate Myers, Skip Davis, Debbie Conry, Bob Pettrucio, Matt Dickson and our mission director, Walter Windsor, have done a wonderfull job down in Podari, Craiova while taking the roof off of our facility there, and replacing with a brand new one as well as eyes glass ministry. Just like this ministry, you can also be part too. Please continue to pray!

Retreat

God has been so good, God has answered your prayers and we’re coming with a great news from Necrilesti Retreat Mountain Top where finally after months of hard working, the papers are done and PIEI has the right now to move forward with the project that was planned for this area. We are hoping to rebuild the old cabine and also add a number of cabines that can fit up to 20 families. This is a great project we belive God will use for His glory, as the missionaries and their families will be trained, equipped and go back in their community to serve God in a different manner, maybe more encourage, more loving and passionate about their Savior Jesus Christ. We are looking forward to raise about 75,000.00 USD and the best part of it is that we have a donor that has promised to come with half of the price mentioned above and we would like to invite you to pray and come alongside with the rest of it. Human resources are also needed, so if God maybe put on your heart to come to Romania, consider to sign up for next team to travel for a short term mission trip. You can also contact our mission director at wcw@piei.org

Camp

We are having a hard time trying to get all the papers done on Victoria propriety, where the authorities are not helping with issuing certificates and approvels to start building on the propriety. Please continue to pray for our national director who is handling this situation.
