Dear brothers and sisters from the USA, our partners in evangelism here in Ukraine, we greet you with the love and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1. Praise God for helping us to celebrate these holidays, Christmas and the New Year 2025. Praise God that our region was calm and there were no enemy missiles, so we were able to preach the Word of God at these evangelistic meetings, where many unbelievers were present who were able to listen and delve into the Word of God. Although there is still a war in Ukraine and in other regions of Ukraine, especially on these holidays, there were missiles, there was destruction and, unfortunately, there were deaths and wounded people. Our prayer to God is more and more for this war to end and for the long-awaited peace to finally come to Ukraine. In our church we celebrated Christmas twice: on December 25 and January 7. On December 25 we celebrated Christmas together with all the Baptist churches from all over Ukraine, and on January 7 we also organized Christmas evangelism because that is how people in the village celebrate. It happened this year. People from the village and from our entire region promised us that if we live until next year, we will celebrate Christmas on December 25. It was like a transitional period in our region. All of Ukraine was switching to celebrating Christmas on December 25, and individual villages celebrated Christmas on January 7, like in the old days. We think that we will gradually switch to the new way.
Young people went from house to house singing carols and proclaiming the Good Word about the Birth of the Messiah. They also had a blessed program for glorifying our Christ the Messiah. Children received Christmas gifts. Calendars and spiritual literature were also distributed to people in their homes. Our church celebrated the New Year 2025 in prayer before God. Thank God that people from the world came to this meeting. They also wanted to celebrate the New Year in prayer before God. We pray for all the people who attended these evangelisms, so that the Lord will test their hearts for repentance.
2. Breaking Bread:
- On January 5, we had the breaking of bread - the first this year. We visited 12 sick people at home with the breaking of bread, where they rejoiced that they had such an opportunity to remember the suffering of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. At the moment, we have many sick people in our church, both the virus and senile infirmity. But thank God that they want to communicate from the Word of God and want to pray. There were also relatives of the sick who also listened to the Word of God.
3. Thanksgiving:
- We thank God and you, dear brothers and sisters from the USA, our partners in evangelism here in Ukraine, for your support in prayer for us. You prayed and we were able to successfully organize these evangelistic meetings during these holidays. For the fact that many people came to church and were able to listen to the word of God.
- We thank God for the peaceful sky in our Chernivtsi region.
4. Prayer needs:
- Pray with us that this terrible war in Ukraine would end.
- Pray that there would be no more enemy missiles, and not only in our region, but throughout Ukraine, these bombings would stop.
- Pray for those people who heard the Word of God at these past evangelisms, so that the Word of the Lord would touch their hearts for repentance.
- Pray for the upcoming evangelism among widows and orphans, which is scheduled for January 17-18. So that the Lord would dispose the hearts of orphans and widows to listen to the Word of the Lord, and give us strength and health for this ministry.
And we pray for you brothers and sisters from the USA, our partners in ministry here in Ukraine. We pray and always thank God for you. May the Lord bless you abundantly and give you all health, strength, peace, success and joy in Christ Jesus.
With love to you, the Petikhachnyy Pavel and Larisa family.
